Hey this is my first post here I hope it's better than myaquariumclub hahaha

Anyway, I have a standard 20 gallon tank, with basic Marineland LED lights in this tank and I'm growing an Amazon sword, Anubias Nana, and green crypts wendtii. I am going to get a new hood and I'm looking at bulb options. Will a 24 wat T5HO be too much with only DIY CO2?? I don't want to have a huge algae bloom in my tank, but I also want my plants to grow better then they are. Thanks for everything!!!

What light bulb would be good for my tank?

There are two "standard" 20 gallon tanks, one 12 inches tall and the other 16 inches tall. Which do you have? If it is the 16 inch tall tank, about the only 2 bulb T5HO light that would not be too much light is an Aqueon/Coralife 2 bulb T5HO. That one would give you about 40 PAR, or low medium light. It would be very helpful to use Excel with that much light.

Yeah it's 16" tall, so I can't just get one 24" 24 watt T5HO bulb for my hood? I'd have to get a double bulb?

And by Excel do you mean flourish?
