So I've been searching and I don't see a planted tank club, or even a freshwater aquarium club of any kind in middle TN or Nashville area. Would love to help start one if there's 2-3 more of you out there, and I know there are, I found an old thread but it looks like nothing ever came of it.

Don't leave me hanging now, holler back :smile2:

I know there are some coral/reef clubs, but I'm not sure of a local club that is not focused on saltwater or african cichlids.

We live in northern Middle Tennessee and supply fish for Aquatic Critter in Nashville, so we're in the Nashville area about once a month on the weekend & would be interested in meeting up on occasion if someone were to start up a planted or freshwater club. I'm not sure what my weekday schedule is going to look like over the next 6 months (new job in Metrocenter area), but the odds are high that we may be moving closer to Nashville in Spring 2017, which could free up our weeknights for meeting up too.

I have got to log in more. I'd love to meet up sometime. I may have found a group, but not too sure how active they are, besides you, I only know one other person with planted tanks in the Middle Tennessee area, and she lives south of Nashville. I'm actually in Hendersonville, so probably closer to you than Nashville proper depending on where you are exactly.

Hey Annah, I'm in Nashvegas!!! Well, actually I live in Brentwood. I shop at the Aquattic critter and some of the employees and I have been talking about starting a club. There are none here that I know of. Hit me back and we can talk.

I'm extremely illiterate when it comes to online forums; I specifically created a user account on this site just so I could reply to this thread.
I also live in Nashville, right beside the airport and I have been dredging information on the internet for about a month.
I find it very gloomy that Nashville doesn't have any type of tropical fish clubs, aquatic plants clubs, or aqua scaping clubs.
So, obviously I'm also very interested in this whole idea!!!
Hopefully I'll get some type of contact with this and hopefully I post this correctly. ?????

As already mentioned, checking in/getting together with the Aquatic Critter would probably help out a lot with getting a ball rolling. They're involved with the MTRC, hosting meetings here and there, and bring their best to the annual frag swaps in Nashville. They also partnered with Dennerle I think last summer to put on an aquascaping workshop at the Nashville Zoo. A combined effort between online/forum and in store networking would probably be the best way to go about it. I wouldn't expect things to go super quickly, though.

Just shot the Aquatic Critter a message on facebook to see if they'd be interested in hosting meetings or somehow partnering with the group. I gave them the website that stephenseifert set up.

I'll keep y'all posted with any answers that come my way.

Edit: Aquatic Critter said they'd definitely be interested. So, now I guess we need to decide what the next step is.

I used to live in Nashville in the 90's. there was a club. If the Fin Den is still open they may know some of the people. I hit the Aquatic Critter every chance I get. Tropical fish selection in Memphis isn't great, and plant selection sucks. I've bought all mine online or at the Critter. Would love to support local business, but other than some of my fish I haven't been able to
