+1 on the water sprite, and water wisteria (very closely related), I had a terrible algae problem in my low tech and once these babies took off they are quite minimal now...I also got 2 rubber lip Plecostumous and they are the best custodians, also I use API co2 booster (excel, essentially) and a venerated member of this forum said a double dose is fine on a daily basis, and even 5x or more is safe with fish to help establish healthy co2 levels. The recommended 1ml per 10gallons is incredibly low, the double dose helped my problem a lot.

Excess nutrients don't cause algae. Lighting and improper co2 cause algae. Your light may be to strong for just liquid co2. U should raise the light or dim it with screen.

+1 I thought this was the case so I asked that ? Because this thread confused me, I thought more nutes in the water column helped algae problems a lot of the time...so I asked here...

No problem...I'm new to the site, but in the short period of time that I've been here, my tank has transformed, and I have learned more than I could put down in a thread! That's for sure. Such an amazing resource.
