Hey Guys-

I have a 5.5 gallon freshwater tank that I would like to try out a couple of snails in. The water is a steady 76 degrees and the pH is usually fairly stable at 7.2. So far, no fish, just plants. I have heard that some species of freshwater snails practically tear plants apart. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced freshwater plant safe snails? If it stops raining here anytime soon I want to take a trip to my LFS and see what's in stock today. Anyways, here are the plants I currently have:

-two pygmy chain swords
-some sort of anubia
-four jungle/corkscrew vals

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm a first timer with snails (Can you tell?). :hihi:

Thanks guys, but before you posted, I was searching through the tank profiles and many of them had mystery snails listed under the inhabitants. I went to my LFS and picked up one gold and one brown. So far, they're very active and enjoying their new home. At my LFS, there were about 25 of them crowded into a 5.5 gallon. I post some pics of mine tommorrow.

Thanks,
