I ordered some flame moss online and it happened to come with a some extra free plant that I am unable to identify, can anyone tell me what this is?

It looks like it has roots growing all along it.

It's pretty tough to id a plant in that rough condition. Let it grow out for a bit and then come back and post some pics.

Yeah I will just let it float and hope for the best. The moss that I ordered was in great shape so I am happy but if I can get this plant healthy that would be great.

The spacing looks similar to my Alternanthera Reinecki - post an update when it grows back

Update - I planted some of it and let the some of it float but both ended up growing really well. I hope these new pictures can help ID it.

Nope, I got flame moss from someone on ebay from Texas and this was the "free gift" included with it.

I don't think you'll get in trouble for it. But he may get caught eventually.
