Found 6 or so of these little guys in my tank when I got home. Anyone care to take a guess at what they are? They are roughly the size of a BB and not attached to anything. Sorry for the cell phone pics.

Most root tabs that comes in capsule forms are filled with tiny bb-like thingy.

Osmocote is tan. What would cause them to turn green? And if the capsules were to release all the osmocote in them, what is the probability that only one "BB" would work its way to the surface in six separate locations in one single day?

Wouldn't algae rub off? If so, its not algae.

Trust me it happens in my tank also. When you have a ball of nutrients and expose it to light algae is going to be all over that in a few hours.

Cool. Guess I should pull them? Or just push them back into the substrate?

Push em back in. I personally don't really care anymore and leave them exposed...hasn't caused me hassles yet.
