Plant Id & light burn problem

I first would like some help identifying a plant in my tank. I recently purchased some from a fellow forum member. The possibilities include:

Ludwigia palustris
Ludwigia repens
Lindernia rotundifolia 'Variegated'
Bacopa salzmannii

Here is the plant. They are the tall ones in the back. I apologize that the image isn't better:

I have a problem and I blame it mostly on my OCD. A couple of months ago, I tried using a Finnex Ray2 alongside my Finnex Planted Plus 24/7 using window screen under the Ray2. The plants in question seemed to do well but I had an algae outbreak and was forced to remove the Ray2. After removing the Ray2, this plant still seemed to grow really well. Two days ago, I tried putting up the Ray2 again with window screen but this time, I got what looks like burned leaves:

They were perfect before putting up the light so I have to believe the light caused it. I am a total noob when it comes to plants but I assumed that since they were growing so well and looked to be light loving, I wanted to add more. Is too much light the likely problem? I'm a bit disappointed because I originally had been using the Ray2. Then I bought the Planted Plus because I wanted better color but after adding the PP, I had major algae. I decided to remove the Ray2 in favor of better color from the Planted Plus but with the substrate at about 20" from the light, I worry now that the Planted Plus may not be penetrating deep enough. Do I have to really sacrifice color for better growth? I thought that man people use two lights on their tank. This is a 45g but I guess it would still be considered lightly planted. Thoughts?

Are you opposed to buying another PP? Another option you have if you need more light would be to hack in a dimmer onto the Ray2.

This same hack could also be applied to the planted plus. Roughly 10 dollars in parts and a bit of soldering

I am not opposed provided the instructions were clear and concise. I was getting ready to sell or otherwise ditch the Ray2 and buy another Planted Plus. Soon I will be getting a 40 breeder which should eliminate some of the problems I have with a 24" tall tank.

Hoping someone can help me identify this background plant though from the list I provided.
At first i thought it was Bacopa but with the markings on the leaf I would say pretty sure it is Lindernia rotundifolia 'Variegated'

All these strip type lights are run on constant voltage. Dimming is just a PEM "switching" of the power supply output..
Well some old RayII's had internal power supplies.. Not easily dimmed..

Are you dosing any ferts? Looks like deficiency to me. Stronger the light the more nutrients uptake by the plants.

I would have argued against it being a fert issue but I tested recently and found 0 nitrates and 0 Po4. I had been using PPS-Pro for months. Just started EI to correct this. Even still, because the damaged happened mostly near the top, I just assumed it was too much light. Going from a Planted Plus to a Planted Plus and Ray2 overnight was probably not wise. Even with the window screen. I am curious though and once EI is underway, I will likely be dumb enough to try again.
