Whats going on to my crypt. Why does it have all those decaying spots on the leaves? My lighting is 2X 7000k leds and one 13w 6700k. This is in a 8 gallon tank with co2.

The picture is tiny and hard to see. Please post another closer/clearer one.

Might be a lack of potassium but I can't see the photo well enough to tell. Are other plants showing similar signs?

Thanks guys for all the replies I know the plant is malnourished at the moment ferts are on their way but this crypt was in my low tech tank with no ferts before and it has signs of something eating it. I suspect its the snails that snuck in through a java fern I bought at petco now I cant get rid of them. Any suggestions?

It's most likely the P, like Zapins said. The damage doesn't look great enough to make it irreversible, your crypt will come back like a bad ass once you get those ferts in there! You'll be amazed ;)

EB

P.s., the plant(moss?) in the uypper left of your photo also looks a little 'yellow', probably low on nitrogen. Could be your camera though lol....

I think you mean K, K is for potassium, P is for phosphorous, but yes it should not deteriorate anymore if it is potassium deficiency and you dose potassium. Old leaves will not repair the holes.

Hard to tell what species it is, but I'd guess the upper left plant is riccia which is usually a light green color. Bottom left dark green plant looks like moss. Also, in general there can be only one deficiency at a time. Only one! :)

any update??

Thank you guys for all your help it was definately the deficiencies that were causing my crypt to wither. Fortunately I started dosing pps pro, trimmed the dead leaves, and sure enough the crypt is doing so much better. I actually received this plant in bad shape it was being thrown away by an employee at my local fish store and I asked him if I could have it. Thanks for the input guys ill post more updates soon!
