Plant growth stalling

423 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Ethana
My plants have slowed down their growth down quite noticeably, and I was wondering if any of you had any ideas.
Tank size: 10 gal
Lighting: 2 18 watt CFL bulbs
CO2: pressurized
Substrate: fluorite gravel
Fertilization: flourish comprehensive
The bulbs and gravel are about 2 years old, I was wondering if maybe the bulbs need to be replaced? Or maybe flourish root tabs?
Thanks a lot!

Is Comprehensive the only fert you are dosing?

If so- that's most likely your problem. Comprehensive is NOT, in fact, "comprehensive" - it's mostly just micro and trace nutrients.

In a moderate to high light setting like your tank, you also need to be dosing macros (nitrogen N, phosphorus P, and potassium K).

If you want to stick with Seachem's line, they have an "enhancer pack" that is the three macros.

Or you can pick up dry ferts for much cheaper (over the long run).
Hi Laura,
I was looking into some dry ferts, I may give those a try,
thanks a lot :)
