Guys I planted a couple of bunches of plants that I ordered today.. they came with some plant anchors to keep the bunches together..

I inadvertantly planted as a bunch with the anchor still on.. before I read online to remove the anchor and plant the stems one by one..

My question.. is it ok for the plant to keep it anchored? or should I pull them out and remove it tomorrow when the dust settles?

Sorry for what is no doubt a novice question..

Remove it. The stems seem to rot where it wraps around

I was afraid of that.. I will have to pull them out tomorrow and separate.. I assume that will be ok...

I planted some anacharis and hornwort and the stems started to melt around the base. Instead, I used a piece of quilt matting and loosely wrapped some lead weights around the stems and placed them behind a rock.

Also, I have read where some hobbyist use lead weights to anchor fragile stems under the substrate to keep them from floating away..
