I have had some berried shrimp in several of my tanks lately that I found all of a sudden dead. I removed the shrimp and noticed planaria coming out of their bodies. I did not suspect the planaria being the cause of the death until I saw another berried shrimp today with a planaria right under her belly among the eggs. It would not even let go when I moved the female shrimp to a tubberware container. It just stuck to the eggs.
Now I wonder if planaria are a real danger to shrimp and shrimp eggs. I have suspected it for some months when my shrimp population slowed down and the planaria flourished. Anyone else notice anything similar?
