I am trying to get some pill, fingernail, or pea clams... especially these species:

* musculium transversum
* sphaerium occidentale
* pisidium casertanum

I'm trying to avoid Asian clams (corbicula fluminea), which are all over the place on eBay already and are not native to the USA. I found the shells of them here in the Charles River, so in theory I could get live ones without having to order any.

Does anyone out there live in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Illinois who would be interested in helping me collect some from vernal pools/ephemeral pools, or streams or rivers? There is information about one in particular I am trying to get from the Illinois river (at Chicago, IL) that is pollution-resistant, a version of musculium transversum:
