I've never had the opportunity to keep the snowball form but I can tell you the blue ones aren't all that. Sure they're a bit blue but it's mostly the mature females and the blue usually an icy blue. They don't stand out very well against a green background of plants. I guess that could be a good thing if you have potentially hostile fish. They are hardy that's for sure, noticeably hardier than my tigers. I'd get yellows if I wanted a neocaridina. They stand out better but aren't obnoxious like those blindingly red cherries, but that's a personal preference. Don't shoot me if you like cherries!
