Tank: A frameless 3 Gallon tank sold to me in a package set. Started December 8th 2013.

Substrate: Flourite Black Sand

Hardscape: Seiryu Stones shipped from my friend Cardinal's Keeper, Thanks Bro! Soon I will set up the 60P

Lighting:

Archaea 13W Power Compact Light Fixture bought from Geniusdudekiran; thanks again for putting up with the shipping hassle!; On roughly 5 hours a day broke up every two hours.

Ferts: GLA green starter pack.

C02: Aquatek CO2 Reg

Filtration: Started with a HOB filter but I am wanting to upgrade to have the Ehiem 2213 for super circulation and the use of lily pipes .



Flora:

Hemianthus Callitrichoides

Alternanthera Reineckii Mini (which should be removed eventually)
Fauna:

Currently:

One Otto

Just an update as of today.

Need to find an easier way to clean the algae off the rocks since the toothbrush way I am using is very hard to do without disturbing the rock placement/ uprooting the HC. Any advice would be appreciated...

I did add a Amano Shrimp that I bought for 5.29$ but I leaped out shortly after to its death.... The other Amano did the same in my ten gallon thread the next day. Waste of ten dollars and would like to know how every one else has such great success when adding theirs to their set-ups please.

that eats algae ... How about some kind of snail..(so new to freshwater) but then I read your thread :-(

Salty kisses: welcome to the fresh water side of the house the problem with this style of tank is that it is small and allot can't go into it but this tank is just a stepping stone to the layout I am going to put together with my 60P.I want to be 100 percent positive that I will knock the ADA tank out of the park to the best of my abilities by allot of practice before I jump into the 60 Abe my 90 p.

sorry guys about the late replies, had a world of issues with the green spot algae on the rocks. So I finally think I found the issue thanks to Billbug on his thread. I had a timer that I got from a group buy and thought the little switches were for half hour increments instead of hours. So instead of the 5 1/2 hours a day I thought it was on, it was on eleven.

So to restart the rocks, I took them out and scrubbed the green algae off but the seachem sand gave way and BOOM goes the hill.

The HC remained in place but if the air. ANYONE knows dealing with HC that replanting ESP in a sand substrate is a mess. So most of my carpet went to crap but I was able to remove a lot of dead brown HC from the underneath of the heavy planted areas.

The AR mini was as tall as the tank, so I trimmed it down to a more proportionate size for the tank. Thanks again Cardinal for hooking me up with such awesome plant. The reason it is in this tank and in tow other tanks is to ensure if one does or does better than the others, I can have a backup . I am still trying to match the quality/ color of it when I received it from you, Cardinal. Any suggestions? I am thinking that trimming it low, might be the key because the taller it gets in every tank, the more the bottom leaves suffer, turn green, and get longer...

Hey James, glad your getting things under control

Usually plants stretch for light and low co2. Although I am also suspecting some of my AR mini may have actually had some rosefolia mixed with in with mini when I received it. May explain what your seeing as I have been having some of mine grow similarly.

Hey Brian, thanks for looking into my journal. It means a lot! I am thinking that it may be some of it but I am not familiar with either plant due to the lack of knowledge on them but the leaves have reached at least 3 inches with 4-5 inches tall. I can keep cutting and pruning to make it small and a deeper red though

I keep the c02 drop checkers in the green or yellow depending on the tank with ALOT of light in the other 10 gallons but with this aquarium, I am still trying to get it all figured out with the light and tank itself.

Kiran, I really enjoy it and thanks for putting up with me long enough for me to get it, the bulb finally blew three days ago making me put both fluval lights I got from you on and been on the lookout for a replacement on every website imaginable . With the exact same timing as cardinal texting me, I find the only supplier I think in the US for what I came to find out was the same bulb as the Ada minis require. Their price is twenty five dollars plus shipping but I don't know what they will charge for shipping. Does any one know what the store in San Francisco charges for shipping?

I an in debate of just getting a finnex fugeray from a guy on here for 25 and will be included on the shipping of the eheim 2211 with .a do aqua out take.... So much money. Not enough in my pockets ha ha
