I was trimming some algae off my carpet and noticed these in the bucket.
I did have a pregnant shrimp but this looks like 100-150 little things and they appear to be round to the naked eye.
I am also treating for ich. Can you visibly see ich?

Guess it depends on how you see it....

I don't view it as a sign of a healthy tank.... as many smaller 'pest like' creatures that thrive in shrimp tanks can live in horrible water that shrimp can't live in.

They can compete for the same food that shrimp eat as well.

I've only ever had one that I've seen.... so no experience with multiples.

You can see Ich when it has infected fish, otherwise it is microscopic in the water column.

In a planted tank seed shrimp can be beneficial to the system. In a shrimp only tank, they often infest hardscape and compete with shrimp for food sources. Depends what you want them for I guess. Some fish love to eat them
