Is it possible to have co2 and o2 come out of the same diffuser just have it so the co2 timer is on during photo periods and oxygen is on when its not?

do the water stoppers on co2 lines work for gases as well?

I am running around 20ppm co2 struggling with staghorn and my shrimp are occasionally near the top with tetra's laboring in breathing. I want to keep the co2 at this level to help with staghorn but also not suffocate the fish, trying to find a work around. I'd rather not put an airstone in if at all possible.

I had a tank with a serious staghorn algae issue (I blame it on being a dirt tank). I was running co2 heavier then that and it didn't help. I think the only way to beat staghorn when its bad is spot dosing peroxide or excel, and really really really keeping up on maintenance, ferts, manual removals, etc for at least a few months. My tank was in my basement and when I put the time in I saw improvement but I couldn't keep it up and ended up tossing the scape and all the plants just to get rid of the staghorn.
