Hi! I found some orange crayfish in my local fish store-they just labeled them as tangerine crays. So, I bought three, I didn't know if they would still be there.

My question is, are these CPO, or are they a mutation of another cray? I really want some CPO's and I can't keep any other crays that get larger than the CPO's. The biggest one of these are probably 3", and I think that is bigger than CPO's are supposed to get. I can still take them back if they are the wrong cray. and keep looking for the dwarfs.

Feed them, put them in a tank with plants. If they tear it to shreds they are not CPO.

yea CPOs max out around 1 inch, there are orange crays

sounds like what you have is an orange variant of p. clarkii

Haha, I'd rather not try that experiement I only have the one tank, and am empty 10 gallon (that they are currently in) and don't want to destroy my good one.

Ok, I thought so. After doing more research, I found that CPO aren't the only orange cray. Soo, I'll take them back and keep looking for some CPO's.
