Well after having a pico reef and a 135g saltwater I've decided to go a bit more low tech and easier to maintain. I've had a few planted tanks before but those were mainly stuff of the java variety all of which did rather well. I am going mgops capped with pool filter sand. So bear with me on my journey unto the breach of planted tankdom.

Lighting: Home Depot domes with 2 19w cfl bulbs

Filtration AC70 which will be planted and maybe either a xp2 or a AC 110 still undecided.

Substrate: mgops capped with pool filter sand.

Flora: water lettuce, apon, sunset hygro, anacharis, dwarf sag, java fern, penny wort and another I can't remember the name of.

Fauna: none yet

Yeah it is a 20L. I wish I had moss for the center log but no one around here had any so maybe in the future it will get some. The stems are still growing since I just planted them yesterday.
