Yep that is the question ! I mean really is there no one in the Evansville area that have a good selection of Aquatic plants for sell ? :icon_cry: Now you would think that there would be at least one of the fish stores that would fill that niche of the Hobby but NO not so! The only shop that has live plants with any quality is a small shop and is a very nice shop I might add. I suppose I could special order but I wish that I could just walk in and buy it and go but alas not in Evansville In. Now don't get me wrong I do like the small shop I mentioned and I also check out the other big stores in town but when it comes right down to it there is precious little to choose from and that makes me sad . :icon_cry:
30 years ago that was not the case but now it seems that the planted tank is all but extinct in the Evansville area ! Now where can I get a good selection of low tech, low to medium light plants ? Close say within 50 miles ?:confused1:

Down here a local miejers store had dwarf hair grass the other day in pots, Along with there usual selection of common stem plants and swords.

We have the same problem down this way. All the LFS's carry the same stuff walmart does with a few stems added. No were around can you find a shrimp of any sort besides ghost/feeder shrimp.

I myself dont mind ordering plants online but shrimp and fish I like to see before hand.

If you ever get down this way let me know and i will point u in the right direction for what we have to offer for plant freindly LFS's.
Which store would you be talking about. I've only found plants at Harps and they are less than "nice" looking. The tanks in that store are disgusting, but they do have some amazing fish.

Well the the shop I was talking about is on Burkhardt north of Morgan ave. just past the fire station on the left before the stop light on the hill . The name of the shop is "Aquarium Concepts" do stop in and check it out! The owner is a very nice lady well worth the effort for sure :) :bounce:

I've been in there before but never noticed the plants. I'll definitely have to stop by there and check it out:proud:
:confused:Dose anyone else buy live plants for their aquariums, in Evansville? And if so WHERE AT ?? I mean really, come on ! Surely I am not the only person that is interested in the "Planted Tank" . Believe it or not, Wally World is where we got our best plant . OK OK, well not counting bunch stem plants, or the one fern we have. But wouldn't you think, that the Aquarium Shops would be the place to look for live Aquarium Plants ? Right? :eek5:

Swap n shop on this forum or trading with locals in the area is one of the best ways to get plants.

I got all my plants free from a local who couldn't see his fish anymore in his tank! :p
LFS' seem to charge outrageous prices for little clippings no matter where I go.

my 2 cents

Ya you would think that there would be at least some around the Evansville Indiana area that have live plants but then again maybe not I guess . Anyway I really don't know witch ones I need for low tech, no added CO2 . I just was hopeful that I might find a local shop that I might visit when I need to get plants. But other options is OK too :)
