Ok to run inline heater on same filter with inline co2 Reactor?

So is it ok to run an inline heater on the same canister filter that is running an inline co2 reactor? I have a dedicated Fluval 206 canister filter that I am only using for my co2. Would it be fine to put a heater after the co2 reactor? There is absolutely no media in the filter like I said its just for co2. Thanks ahead of time.

I really cannot think of any problems you may have and I have mine plumbed after the reactor (no easy way to do it before). The heater is not necessarily designed for CO2 flow material wise but I'm guessing the heater will give out before you see any negative effects from the CO2. That being said I'm far from an expert.

Interesting. Was actually thinking of doing that way due to small amount of hose left on the out. Any real benefit of doing on the in compared to out?

If it's on the input to the filter then you're running dirty water through it, which may or may not lead to a problem. On the outflow it's clean water, so maybe less of a chance of an issue down the road?

Edit: Forgot you were running the dedicated filter. So I guess the water is just as dirty on both sides.

Yes exactly. No media at all. But good point if was using it going through a regular filter with media.

Yup no benefits besides it heating up the tank u might run into having to cleaning it more not sure . I just didn't have any room left to put it with the outflow had a co2 reactor hooked up

Yup exactly same here. So glad you mentioned it to hook up to in instead.

Reason I am now going with inline heater well couple reasons. For one less equipment in tank. More reliable consistent temperature. Third reason is I had a finnex glad heater that decided to crack on me in the tank. Good thing I noticed bubbles and such coming from it before it did some damage.

So I realized this is a win win. Getting a replacement inline heater in its place.

You should put the heater after the reactor the warmer the water the less co2 can be dissolved in it.

That is a very good point. Why I love this site. I will probably do that. Makes total sense.

This is exactly what I use, fluval 306 - reactor - heater and into the tank.

Is your Fluval 306 dedicated for just the co2 and heater? No media in it also?

No. I have 46 gal with one 306 only. I have media and floss in there, that's all. Works just fine.

Good stuff. You have a pic of the out tubing with the reactor and heater?

Not at the moment but there is nothing complicated to it. From the filter output I run 1 ft clear tubing to reactor. From reactor 1ft clear to hear. From heater I use original fluval tubing into the tank. That's all.

Sounds good. Ya it is already a foot from filter to reactor. Will do another foot from reactor to heater. Bought extra Fluval tubing. Was short just having to use the extra foot from filter to reactor. Already have the tubing and clamps ready. Will be my weekend project.

One word of advise, use a lot of plumber tape, you don't want this to leak after you start it.
