This is the stuff that I found at my local PetSmart.

As a beginner, I think this is what I need, yes? or did I just waste some money?

Oh, and where can I find a supplier of plants on-line.

I want to get some Anacharis, but nobody around here has any.

can anyone comment on the stuff I bought. from what I can tell it's the right stuff, but as a newbie I really don't know.

oh, I already have a 5000K and 6500K CFL bulb fixtures

You are growing anacharis for your turtle, right? Seems to be a good start. Filters are always important, how bigs your tank? What are you going to top the laterite with?

the tank is only 10g and I might already have it "over populated" with three anacharis, one anubius, one water fern, two baby tears + a dozen minnows that will also meet Mr. Turtle sooner or later

I topped the laterite with 50/50 mix of sand and 1/4inch size pebbles for a 2inch deep "substrate" although it doesnt look too nice so I may need to add more pebbles?

might find that that filter is a bit noisy. aqua clear filters are pretty good try to find some.

the PetSmart had both kinds and not knowing any better and finding the MarineLand on sale I got it. the tank is in the laundry room so not a big deal if it's a bit noisy, so I say now :icon_roll
