My tank has been doing great as of late with the exception of a small thread and gsa problem. Out of nowhere my favorite fish a leopard pleco died today. It couldn't have been age as he was only about 2 inches long. Now I also see some tuffs of bga appearing on my substrate and a few plants. I had never seen a pleco that I liked before with the exception of these, and I doubt I'll ever see them again. Paid $45 for him too. Arghhh

That's the problem with some plecos. You pay a large sum of cash for one and then it just dies. No real reason, just death! I'd love to have a Snowball but $50 is a lot to invest in a fish. I have less in my lighting!

Sorry to hear about your loss though. Just move on.

BTW: Your avatar rocks. That's a funny show.

You talking about these? Nitrites and ammonia rose to 0.1ppm probably due to the dead fish. Phosphates were 3ppm while nitrates were 15ppm. I just tested ammonia and nitrites 2 days ago and they both were 0.

I saw a 2 inch gold nugget pleco (Baryancistrus sp.) at petsmart for $45...
hey canadian guy, don't tell me you can get them for $7.99.. :)

i think 3ppm of phosphate is kinda high for a river catfish. they're used to high oxygen and clean water.

He's been doing fine in these conditions for 3 months now. Water is crystal clear, plants pearl like mad daily. Just out of the blue dead. Oh, well.

why is canada getting cheaper prices than the states? We're closer to South America... and if they breed these guys in Asia... We're the same distance.
weird.
Yeah, i read that they don't acutally eat the driftwood. they're looking for bugs and crusteceans in the driftwood.

You really have to be into metal IMO to grasp the full hilarity of the show. There is so many references to all forms of heavy music it's ridiculous, right down to the characters themselves. I love it. Toki and Skwisgar rule!!!...times travels face bags lmao
