Of peat pots and pellets

Has anyone used these for a little extra help for those plants with inadequate root systems? If so, any issues other than possible ph drop from the peat?

I've used them with land plants, and when starting seeds.

When used with normal plants underground, they are meant to decompose quickly so the plant roots can grow through . . .

I imagine they would fall apart in water. But test it out in a bowl before you try it in an aquarium. Maybe you'll find something new! :D

.
I fail to see how that would be a problem. :D

My concern was additives. I think I'm going to use one of the pellets for a baraclaya I just got - 1.5 leaves and half an inch of rhizome, plus a root, what do I have to lose? I'll just drop it in an unoccupied tank and keep an eye on things, maybe stick a "canary" in there to see if there are any side effects.
