Oebt x normal tiger mix?

1602 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Nubster
Anyone crossed any orange eye blue tigers with regular tigers? I just got 1 male oebt and 20 regular tigers. Should I mix these bloodlines? Might I get some blondes or light blues in the mix? Just curious.

Unless you are planning to breed and sell, then I would say go for it. It's fun to see what happens.
Science experiment!!!!!!!!!

And thus his chance at love turns on the fickle winds of human whimsy.

Alack, poor, poor shrimp. You know not the puppet master that tugs on the strings of your destiny!
Well I'm not expecting for better blues out of this. But perhaps better regular tigers?

What do you mean by "better" tigers?
Broader stripes, bluish color, orange eyes. Just a change. And since they are the same sp it's not hybridizing right? Just thinning the bloodline for the blues?

Been there, done that! OEBT x Super Tiger/regular Tiger

Result is you will get all babies with dark eyes, some will have the blue hue, others will look like regular Tigers (in Super Tiger cross, some will have the orange head and tail)

IF you cross some of the dark eyed blue ones back to the OEBT you will get some OEBT, and some dark eyed ones....not all will be blue, you will get blondes too.

IMO it was a waste of time! Best to keep the OEBT separate as they command the higher prices, regular Tigers and Super Tigers are well under $5 each, so unless you want a tank of regular looking Tigers some with a blue hue, best not to do this.

Like all hybrids it takes a few generations to get something back that resembles what you want to achieve by crossing them in the first place.

OEBTs are sooo unique it is a shame to revert them back to ordinary looking Tigers.

PS the stripes don't get any wider!!! If you want to go that route, you are best to cross OEBT x BTOE...as the BTOE is actually a deep blue Tiger shrimp with bands so wide that they whole top shell looks Black! In a good light BTOE will show a blue color, they just look black.

I can't even keep tigers alive much less breed or crossbreed them. Those that can, I envy you.
