I picked one up for cheap as it was a scratch and dent, but unused. Box was mangled and the anodized housing had a scratch in it. Fast forward 35 days, and it is dead. Took it apart and found that there are electrolytic capacitors fed by mains AC voltage that got hot enough to burst, venting all their electrolyte and melting the plastic insulation sleeve around the ballast boards. Both ballasts failed in this manner. One of the capacitors was literally burned.

I also found that although the outer housing had an earth ground, the ballasts themselves are ungrounded.

DO NOT BUY THESE! This is obviously a fire risk and a shock hazard.
