I have a possibly 1 1-2 year old betta , who brings me so much enjoyment . however some of the things he does i wonder about .

Such as swimming in the current of the filter outtake, he swims against it for about 5 minutes then swims to the bottom , and chills out . he knows when its time to eat in the morning . I feed him fry this morning which aside from swimming in the current , that was his excitement for the day . He also when the filter is off , flares at it and curls around it . I'm wondering if the shape of the nozzle makes him think its a female fish ?

For the most part he is a mild mannered fish with dirty windows :wink2:

Sounds like normal Betta behaviour to me! Just be happy he doesn't leap out of the water to bite you. That's what one of mine does.

My King is FILLED with personality. Then again all Bettas are! Typical Betta behavior and antics. Got to love them. They really are a unique little fish.
