My 3 female cherry shrimp have pretty much camped out on my stealth heater. The thermometer shows 74-76 degrees, so I don't think the water is terribly cold. However, I have noticed about a half dozen youngsters on the glass. Are they looking for warmth to help hatch the eggs or something?

Mine hang out on the heater in the summer when it's off. It's a great place to eat algae and be protected as they can scoot around to the backside quickly.

When in a fish-free tank my shrimp will be everywhere, including swimming. The even hang upside down on the floating duckweed!

My amanos used to hang out on the heater until the plants grew in. Now they're nearly impossible to find except when they choose to come out! At least the RCS are red...

My amanos also hide behind the heater during the day. I only have two so would they be more confident with a larger population? I assume they are afraid of the fish in the tank but the biggest are only a pair of kribs.
