I dunno what's wrong. I came home and stared into the fish tank.. all the fish seem to be facing up into the surface.. like they are eating.. but they are not moving around.. then they would swim around like normal around the tank.. but they keep going back up.. seems like they are going up for air.. but the tank has not been injecting co2 for a few days now (cleaning diffuser).. did a big water change (with cured water, as usual) yesterday and things seemed fine..

I just popped one of the lily pipes just above the surface to cause some surface agitation..

Any other suggestions?

It could have still had a low O2 level in the water. Keep the lily pipe raised and keep doing water changes until you're sure everything is fine. Test your water to make sure everything is in check (NH4, NO2 etc)

I raised both lily pipes to break surface and also had my fan on to make a ripple on the surface..

seems like it worked.

Didn't expect to be de-oxygenated(not a word?) since it was a brand new wc..
