I have had a Nymphaea micrantha for about 2 weeks and in the last few days, perfectly healthy looking leaves and stems have been separating from the rhizome. Does anyone know if this plants is specific with water parameters? I had read that they require good lighting and I currently have 156 watts of T5 lighting over my 58 gallon, which I assume would be sufficient. I'm also dosing EI, have pressurized CO2 and supplement with Excel. I realize it could just be transitioning and perhaps will send out new leaves but I was hoping someone who had experience with this plant might be able to help.

When I first got mine, it did the same thing until it lost all of its leaves. I though it was a goner, but 2 months later it sent out new leaves to my surprise and is currently doing very well. I've gotten over 15 plants off this original one over about a years time. I would leave it alone if I were you and let it take its course.

That's good to hear! I was hoping it was normal but couldn't find much information on the plant. The leaves were so beautiful, I hated to see them drop off. Thanks for the info!
