Just picked up a submerged Nymphaea lotus bulb from the LFS, but I'm nervous about putting it in my tank since it has some brown "fuzz" on parts of the bulb. The fuzz looks a tiny bit like BBA, but I know next to nothing about Nymphaea lotuses. Is it normal for there to be a bit of hair/fuzz on the bulb? Or do I have a BBA-afflicted bulb that I should ditch?

Picture please, if you may. If it's a new bulb, it may be rotting or old.

Here it is:

The fuzzy tufts kind of look like part of the bulb itself, but I want to be certain of that before I dump it in my lovely algae-free tank (had a bad experience with BBA years ago and do not want a repeat). I don't think the bulb is old/rotting since it appears to be actively sending up new shoots.

Yup that's normal That's one good healthy one too.

Super! That's great news, thanks for clearing it up. I'll add this guy to the tank tomorrow. Here's hoping it continues to be healthy as it grows.
