Ok let's start with the equipment...
125G tank
Rena XP4
10lb pressurized co2 system with electronic regulator and ph controller
External reactor with ph probe mounted before the inlet to the reactor
2X96W CF on for 8 hours per day
4X21W t-5 on for 9 hours per day
Now to the problem...
This tank has been running for about 6 months and up until last week I could get enough co2 in the tank to drop my ph by about 1 and turn the drop checker green/yellow. Normal PH for my tank was 6.5 during lights off and 5.5 during lights on/co2 on. Now my PH will not drop below 5.8 and my drop checker stays a dark green no matter how long the co2 is on. Before the co2 would kick on and get to the desired level and maintain it, only kicking on a few times a day. Now the co2 is running constantly and it seems I cannot get enough co2 into the tank. I refilled my bottle on 09/19/2009 and it was fine for the first week or so. I recently, about 2 weeks ago, did a large trim and removed the jungle that was in my tank. I have not changed anything else and water parameters are all normal including KH(3) and GH(8).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am truly stumped on this one but probably just need someone else to point out the obvious to me...haha
Thanks in advance guys and gals....
