Like the title says, I honestly have no idea what to do about lighting. I currently have a desk lamp clipped onto the back of my 5-gallon. The description of the bulb from the website says, "13 watt GU24 compact fluoresent bulb included equivalent to a 60W bulb"
What does that mean? Can anyone tell me how much light I'm getting? How does this rate for plants?

I've used a 13w desk lamp over a 2.5g and it worked very well. On a 5g, depending on the height, it's probably medium-low light, just under the point of needing CO2 to avoid growth problems. Make sure you keep up with your dosing and be prepared to use excel or CO2 if you start seeing a bunch of algae.
