The narrow leaf java fern in my mothers tank is going weird. It's been suffering from some deficiency for about a month, the new growth is extremely light at the tips, or even transparent in some places. The older growth seems to have slightly darker veins than normal. The weirdest thing though it my formerly completely normal narrow leaf has started splitting at the tips, almost like trident. I swear that I've heard of this before but I can't find anything on it. Anyone have any thought as to cause?
The tank is a 5 gallon mini-m, zoomed 501 filter, new 3w led fixture, sand substrate. There was formerly no dosing except for whatever the fish provided and I've never run into problems until now, but I've since started occasionally supplementing with flourish. I can provide pictures if need be.
