Hi guys really struggling with my planted tank any ideas on what’s causing this? I’ve also bought a large Java fern was has pretty much died and shrunk back to rhizome

I don’t have much luck with moss either apart from Java 😂
I dose weekly with TNC complete fertiliser, flourish excel daily, 7 hours light daily

Sorry haven’t got any water parameters to find to you I don’t typically dive that deep into it

I don't think weekly dosing of TNC Complete is sustaining your plants with enough Potassium. Add 1/8th teaspoon per 10 gallons Potassium Sulfate or Potassium Chloride as an emergency dose. Add half as much three times a week as supplimental doses.

30 liters/37.85 liters x 1/8 teaspoon. Just put in a little less than an 1/8th teaspoon in 30 liters. Dosing Potassium is more forgiving than dosing other fertilizers. But you get holes in leaves if you come up short.

It's K2SO4 or KCL powder. Your two ferts should have just about everything. But evidently they don't have enough Potassium. You must have a heavy plant mass. Good on you.

The plants I have spread/start off well young leaves are healthy but the adult leaves start to die off slowly but as you said lacking potassium would explain the drop off I guess, thank you so much 👍

You're welcome @Escort_mexico . Hope I'm right. I used to dose weekly with the now discontinued Tropica Master Grow. I can't remember if I added more Potassium. I only started testing for Potassium recently. It runs out quickly. Noticeably quicker if you have a heavy plant mass.

I generally only dose iron and potassium in my tanks. I use liquid and dose 2 drops per day of each in a 20 gal. I also dose glut. I haven't dosed with a general fertilizer for years.
