thats a mythyour going to have have to recharge that plasma next year for the price of the tv
Yes I didLol not that myth again, ignore redman you don't need to recharge plasma tvs. Hope you got a 1080p plasma though![]()
Blu ray player in addition to netflix watch instantly is my solution to that problemNice!, now if only there were better programming on tv![]()
What?!? I've heard a lot of weird myths about plasmas but NEVER that they require a recharge. Is this guy serious? Anyway, when I told people I was getting a 50" plasma two years ago everybody laughed at me for not getting an LCD. All the laughing stopped as soon as they came over and saw it. Plasma offers some of the best black levels in my opinion and a more true picture. Especially in a room with some light issues and glare. Good choice. You won't regret it. My only complaint is the amount of power they draw. I'll be replacing my 50" plasma with a 63" LED shortly but the plasma will still get used after being moved to our bathroom... yeah, I said master bathroom.your going to have have to recharge that plasma next year for the price of the tv
Don't forget about the weight aspect. Mounting an LCD tv on the wall is so much easier than a plasma. My only complaint is the amount of power they draw.
Yeah that panel is heavy. But Hitachi Plasmas come with a feature called "power swivel". Its a powered base that you can control with the remote to pan the 70 degrees off center in either direction. No matter where I sit in the room Im always looking directly at the TV... lol. So I never had any intention of putting mine on the wall.Don't forget about the weight aspect. You won't be disappointed. Our last Panny plasma was the first of the viera models, and someone is still probably watching that sucker. I sold it, and bought a larger one.Just purchased a 50" panasonic viera plasma tv from Amazon. Our 32" lcd finally died tonight.
TV, stand, and blu ray was about $1300. TV gets delivered next Tuesday. :hihi:
I heard/read that they are good for 40k to 60k hours of use. If it lasts 10-12 yrs that will be good enough for me. Btw, what a difference between crt TVs and hd lcd or plasma TVs. And this for only $615.00. In the near future I'll get one a bit bigger for the living room. Lol, now my wife wants a 22 to 27" for her bedroom.Congrats. I also have a Plasma 56" that I am more than happy with. The only issue I have seen personally with plasma is burn in. We used to use a ton of plasmas at my company. When the picture got burned in (still screen left on), the guys would display a black fixed screen on it for a cpl hours, no more burn in.
I am still wondering how long LCD's and Plasmas will last. My parents still have a Sony Trinitron from the 80's. I wonder if the flat screens will last anywhere near as long..
