Hi all,

I followed a link from bettafish.com about nano tanks and now I am cycling a Fluval Spec 5 while my crown tail girls are in temporary housing.

I'll put one in there (the stronger swimmer, Qi, who is turquoise) and one in a regulation 5 gallon (Prana who is deep blue).

Am feeling a bit anxious b.c I don't want to mess up and kill the girls!

I think I'd like a couple of shrimp in each tank, too.

Thanks in advance for all the info and advice on this forum!

Are you planning on two females in the spec V?

No they're too aggressive with each other.

Creating a sorority is beyond me right now, through I think they're amazing.
Sounds good to me, then. Betas will appreciate some live plants. Another thing that can be kept with bettas are mystery snails. They are cool little guys :) keep temps in the 78f range, cycle the tank to completion, add some plants and you will have a great home for your betta. If you want, add some Indian almond leaves to make the tank more like the bettas natural habitat ;)

Thanks for the suggestions!

I am figuring out if I want to put dirt in my first tank or not. Waiting for a month would test my patience!

Maybe gravel for the first tank and dirt next time.
