I am setting up a relatively deep (about 25" to substrate) and WIDE (36" front to back) planted tank. I have kept fish (both salt and freshwater) all my life, but never a planted tank. From what I read Metal Halides are just too strong for a planted tank - I assume that's still the case despite the 25" depth and the large coverage area. Which leaves me with T-5s or LEDs, although LED's for freshwater tanks don't seem to put out enough PAR. The simpler solution the better for me. Advice on LED vs T5 and what product is best would be appreciated. I have a lean toward T5. Thanks
