Hi. I just switched my 10g substrate from gravel to MGOCPM topped with about an inch of sand. Can I have some suggestions about planting with this substrate. I have like 10" forceps. Fingers seems to be difficult. I also need to add more sand as what I added wasn't enough. Now I have to fill in the holes in the sand layer.

Much obliged,

Steven

I would use tweezers and reduce the water level when planting, or plant before adding water, it's much easier to control. Be careful when pouring in water you don't want to disturb your sand cap, or else you'll have dirt clouds everywhere :/

Are you supposed to plant in the sand, or are you supposed to go all the way down in the dirt?
Go however deep you need for the plant/roots, I would plant normally as if there wasn't soil. The idea is roots will eventually go into the soil and spread quickly, grabbing vital nutrients and aerating the soil at the same time.
