Hi,

so i just picked up a used co2 regulator, two guages, solenoid and bubble counter (no name on anything). my question is this. there are two guages. the one on the right which i believe is the low pressure side goes up to 10(numbers on the outside). without it being even hooked on to the tank it has a reading of 5. does this mean the guage is bad? or will it 'reset' once it is on the tank? srry if this is a rookie question. i tried to google it and look it up on previous posts here, but no luck. if someone know of a good reading tutorial for me, please point me in th right direction. thanks and happy new year!!
thanks,

anthony

Well, it could have readings in psi, bar, kg/cm2, lpm, or something else. Make sure you're reading psi (or possibly "lb/in2"). The gauge closest to the inlet (if the inlet is on the side) will be the high pressure gauge. It's possible the gauge is blown, or it might just be "off" by 5 units of whatever units you're reading.

I'd say hook it up and see what happens.

Or, if you want, you could return the reg without testing and try to get one that has accurate gauges.

it actually has the inlet in the back. it is the guage on the right side. on the bottom it says kg/cm2. thats the low pressure guage right? it is closest to the outlet. i wish i could return it, but i didn't buy it new. bought from e-bay a long time ago. actually forgot i had it, just found it and got excited to hook it up. just not sure if it will work properly. i'm going to pick up some airline today and a check valve and give it a shot.
