Rather than doing a Deluxe 36 bow front, i might just build my own!

I would need help finding out how cheap i can get everything
(1) 46Gallon Bowfront Tank
(1) Glass top
(1) One Flourescent Light w/ High powered lights
(3) 20lbs bags of good plant gravel
(1) Good Filter
(1) Heater

can anyone who doesnt have anything to do at the time give me a hand in finding out how much this would cost?

If it cost more than about $150 i may stick with just getting the 36 bow front deluxe.....

Unless you find some incredibly sweet used deals, it will absolutely cost far more than $150.

*edit* To be more specific, if you were to buy 4 15lb bags of flourite (which is maybe a high-middle shelf substrate), it'd be $80. A "good" new canister filter would run $125-175 for that size, and a heater is $25-30. If you're really careful and search for good used deals, you can definitely reduce that substantially, but if you've found a 36g kit for $150 that has everything you want, I'd say go for it :)

odyssea cfs 500 - $60 on ebay
fish tank - could be free if you find it "first" :) I got my 55 gallon tank + stand for free off of freecycle. Granted I had to derust the stand and repaint it but that wasn't too bad.
Some people use sifted/rinsed (to remove big rocks/sticks and floating material) 'organic' topsoil soil (free from your backyard if you can dig through it in the winter or a few dollars for a giant bag from a big box store mixed with pool filter sand ($10 for a 50lb bag) and then capped with more pool filter sand and they are happy with the results.
the real dent in the wallet will come from you justifying the cost of all these new plants (and fish) b/c you spent so little on everything else!
so you think just do the 36 gallon bow front for $120-ish? i have some eco complete just not sure how well it works.

already have plants and shrimp in another tank that will be transfered then that tank is going to be sold to pay off the new one.
