Hi guys!

New here. Been a while since I had a planted tank, and having moved to the middle-east a year ago I thought it would be a while before I could get one. Turns out there's one decent store here that i've managed to get some stuff from. Having a custom shallow rimless tank made (100cmx45x36high) and went shopping yesterday for some hardscape stuff.

Picked up a decent haul of wood and rocks, plus some substrate and additives (that I wasn't going to bother with, but decided to go for).

Think I might have a little too much stuff, but best to be able to pick and choose what makes it to the tank I guess!

Tank will have c02 and about 70w of light.

Looking for some hardscaping ideas so the larger peice of wood doesn't totally dominate. I plan on a steep gradient towards the back, and wll be using tissue-culture plants, mostly small/medium, no swords or long leaves.

Comments and tips welcome!

If the pictures don't load see them here instead, with comments:

So where is the tank/stand ? If you don't have it yet then perhaps you can cut a piece of paper/cardboard that is the same size as the bottom of the tank and start trying idea's on that to get a start on it.

Tank is being built currently. Should be ready in next 1-2 weeks. Good idea about assembling it on cardboard. Thanks.

Is it fairly normal for some wood to not leech much? I have these things stored in the huge tub you can see, and replace the water twice per day as hot as I can make it. The water isn't becoming very coloured. Most of the wood is sinking already except some of the smaller pieces.

Is it possible these have been used previously and are already pretty free of tannins?
