Hi folks,

Need a little advice on algae issues with a new tank.

Getting quite a lot of hair algae on the spray bar, but not sure what variety it is:

Likewise getting this starting to cover a fair amount of the plants. Started on this Java which is closest to the light, but it's now spreading a bit:

Dosing PPS Pro at half volume for the tank, and low-med light (12 hours with an added 4 hour break).

thats a lot of light for java fern and most easy plants! I would start by cutting that in about 1/2. Try maybe 7 hours of light.

Bought this stuff, mix is lower. Been dosing about 4ml of each solution per day, and that way my nitrates don't get out of control.

Just started dosing calcium as well, as of today, since I start with RO.

For Java, yes, but I have carpet plans way down low and lots of tannins. Might just not be a good tank for the Java.
