I know this is a topic that has been discussed to death but i tried a couple of google searches and its one of those things that too much info just not the right info... so i come to the community. I just got some anubias and java on pieces of driftwood. Its covered in algae and crap. Before i put it in my set up how should i treat it safely to kill off and clean off the algae ...

Did you try just wiping with a wet paper towel?

Don't rinse with tap water. Could be too much chlorine.
