Hello everyone,

My name is Brandon and I live in the Central Florida area. I am fairly new to the aquarium hobby, but have taken to it pretty fast. I would almost say I am addicted... I started with a 20 gallon tall that was a spur of the moment purchase with fake decorations and such. The interest ran out quickly as it just looked like a little kids tank. Beginning of this year I up'd my tank to a 65 gallon long tank with sand and driftwood. This is where I am now.

65 gallon (48x24x13)
Ehiem 2217 can
I have a 48" quad t5 ho light. Timer set 12 pm to 3pm 2 bulbs. 3pm-5pm 4 bulbs, and 5 pm to 8pm 2 bulbs. All 6500 plant lights.
I fertilize with FloraPride(which bottle is empty and will begin with Excel). And I use root tabs.

The tanks is stocked with about 30 fish, if you guys are curious to know I will add them to my description too.

I like the forum and hope to learn a lot as I am about 8 months into this new hobby.

This picture was taken about 2 weeks ago, and the plants in the back (mainly the Ludiwigia) has grow like crazy about 2-2.5 inches.

All suggestions/criticism are welcome!!!

Welcome
Like many I have learned a few things
One of them is when placing plants, group the same kind together. Once you do this you will wAnt to consider foreground, middle and rear of tank placement. Think about the shades of green and the various textures. This is what helped me most ... That and the golden ratio( goggle it)
Best of luck and most important. Have fun :)

Thanks, that is what I am focusing on right now. When I bought my first batch of plants, I did not really know how far they would go. As you can see they didnt quite go as far as I would have liked. I'm actually going by the LFS to look at some plants today!! Hopefully they have something good.
