Hi everyone,

I've just finished cycling my new Ebi and added some RCS from my other tank. The Ebi is planted and the shrimp seem healthy and happy in their new home. I would like to know if any other Ebi + RCS owners have added any guppies or tetras. I don't want to stress the shrimp or add in fish that would be unhappy in 8 gallons.

I think if you have some tall plants or cholla wood then the shrimp can occupy the entire tank and be very entertaining.

I would love an Oto but for some reason they don't seem to do well in this area. After talking to the LFS guy we think maybe it's the very hard water.

I'll look into this type. I don't want a hundred guppies so maybe add 3-4 males? Thanks for the idea.

I'm willing to stick with shrimp only, but I already have two smaller tanks with RCS. I would like to add some fish to this one for some variety but only if it is a good life for the fish. I agree that shrimp are really entertaining.

Okay, my recommendation would be a few (2-4) White Cloud Mountain minnows. Both species will do well in 68-72 degree water and the WCMMs will appreciate the height of the Ebi. The WCMMs will also swim in the flow of the Ebi filter's spray bar.
