New Fluval '06 series canister filters?

I'm in need of a new canister filter as my Eheim Ecco 2236 cracked on me and it wasn't properly rated.

But now its turning into the holiday season so there must be some good deals coming out. I teared down my tank and now I've rebuilt it and am using sand instead of gravel.

Do you think a fluval 406 could support a 75 gallon planted?

I'm open to any other suggestions...
