I always really liked Crystal red shrimp tanks, so I decided to create a low-tech planted CRS tank

Equipment:
Tank: 23.6" x 19.7" x 16.5"
Filter: AIO tank + Rena Xp3
Heater: Jager 120 watts
Substrate: U.P. Aqua Soil 40 lbs
Lights: 24" Satellite LED +

Plants

Anubis
Flame Moss
Blyxia Japonicaa
Crypt Parva
Undulata

Currently my tank has 5 Otos, and around 30-40 Crystal reds ranging from babies to adults and about 10 Blue Velvet shrimps.

Tank Parameters:

PH: 6.8-6.9 (changes with lights being on/off)
Temp: 71
GH: 3-4
KH: 0-1
Nitrate: 0-5 PPM

Tank is still fairly new, but so far so good.

I'm more of a fan of 'painted' shrimp. I like the solid colors. But that is obviously just preference! I do like this tank for sure. Your substrate reminds me of those ice cream ball things... I can't remember the name though.
