cool tank, however I do think you could do better on the scape with the wood you have. Not much of a scaper though, but maybe the experts have some tips. Any plans for the background? I have mine full black. Hides the cables and makes for a nice view.
New 40g, Low tech Last minute Planted.

Bought the tank during Petcos $1/Gal sale. I was going to buy a stand but decided to build one, and if it didn't work out, I would buy one. The stand worked out fine. Still should screw in two side supports but its solid.
I really wanted a canister, but had to stay within a budget, so I went with a Marineland 350 HOB. The light is a 24" Current USA Satellite LED Fixture with controllable blue/white dimmers. I should of went with a 36" but again I wasn't quite expecting to get back into planted tanks, and could probibly someday just buy a second one.
The driftwood was about 24$, I did go by every pond and lake in town first but just didn't find any I like, I don't know if Im going to keep the current layout permanent but I do like it. I know most if not all of the "bacteria in a bottle" doesn't work. But I got it for free so Im trying it.
I am still undecided on fish. I want fish with personality, like an Oscar, but realistically a 40g isn't big enough for one for long. I like rams, and am heading to a petshop out of town to see what they have, as the ones in and around my city suck for fish variety. I will be doing some sort of Co2 as the sand wont really do anything for the plants. Id love and tips/tricks/critiques

I have a few rounded rocks I may add to both front corners. That picture has the white led at 100% and blue at about 60%

Tanks cycled, aside from the hairgrass the plants are doing amazing.
Still haven't gotten a background/rocks I picked up a second job so pretty limited on free time atm.
did pick up a couple rams, only been in the tank a couple days, still hide most of the time but they're exploring a bit more and eat well.

Thanks Ill do that, I finally put on the black background, eats up alot of light :/
Bought a 3rd male gbr, doesn't really seem to be any real aggression, though its clear who the dominate one is, he really colored up I wish I could get a clear shot.
I already need to trim some plants, which is hardly a complaint!
The hair grass died off some, looks like what survived is starting to thrive though to hopefully itll do well.
