This is my first planted tank, two weeks running now.
I am using the walstad method, with 2" of soil and 1" of flourite on top.

25 Gallon
Eheim 2213 canister
Coralife 2x 65watt compact fluorescent fixture (one 6,700k daylight, one colormax)
4L DIY CO2, marina mini powehead as a reactor
DIY Suspended light mount

Plants:

Water wisteria
Java Fern
Java Moss
HG
Dwarf Sag
Vals
Sword

Inhabitants:

3 SAE's
2 CAE's
5 Black Tetras
5 Red Glow Tetras
1 Dwarf Pleco

Thanks you guys. Im heading to King Eds this weekend (a killer pet store here near Vancouver) and will be getting more plants so I will post more pictures afterwards.

And im not sure of the brand, but it was not originally rimless. I took the liberty of taking the top rim off myself. I wanted to remove the bottom trim aswell, but with that stand it wouldn't have worked out.

I think we have the same tank. We also started at about the same time, this is my first also and I started setting it up 9/3. Glad I found this, I will be interested to share equipment, stocking, results experience with you. I have eheim also, but the 2234 model. My light is a 24" t5ho with the 7500k bulb. I do pressure CO2, but I built the cerges reactor.

Did you have any problems removing the rim?

Not any problems removing it no. Took some time and effort to get all the silicone off. I first tried using some "silicone removing gel", but it didnt really help at all.
