Hi guys i want your help to choose new substrate for my caridina shrimps (galaxy blue bolts red crystal).I have used many active soils like dennerle shrimp king fluval stratum and tropical but i had problems with pH in my shrimp tanks.My ph drop so much close to 4 in every tank with ro water and mineral Bee shrimp GH+.Can you tell me a neutral substrate for caridina shrimps?What about for search flurite red?

Active soils are usually the best for shrimp tanks. I notice much better health and reproduction in them compared to non active substrate tanks (eco-complete, sand, etc). What are you using to measure the ph? I doubt the ph is actually dropping to 4 as most active soils buffer ph to around 6 with ro water.
